Mozambique: 2025 Humanitarian Response Dashboard - Tropical Cyclone Dikeledi (as of 10 February 2025)

Tropical Cyclone Dikeledi made landfall south of Ilha de Mocambique in Nampula province in the early afternoon of 13 January and re-entered the Mozambique Channel via Angoche the next day. It brought severe weather conditions with Mossuril recording the highest precipitation with 247mm on 14 January followed by Muecate (240.1mm) and Nampula (210.4mm), and windspeeds of 150km/h, and intense wind gusts of up to 180 km/h. an estimated 283,334 people have been impacted, with number of damaged houses is estimated at 80,865 houses including 44,012 partially damaged and 36,853 fully damaged houses, as well as 48 health facilities, 221 schools, 168 places of workshop, and 4,092 Ha of agricultural area.

INGD and OCHA facilitated the Multisector Initial Rapid Assessment (MIRA) from 25-29 January in Nacala Porto, Ilha de Mozambique, and Monapo districts and identified Shelter/NFI, emergency food, WASH, and health as priority needs of the affected people. To date, the Shelter&NFIs, Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene and Protection clusters have provided a modicum of humanitarian response. With the rainy and cyclone season, as well as the lean season, continuing until April, urgent needs include food, agricultural seeds, construction materials, and nutrition and GBV assistance.
