Accountability to Affected People (AAP) Assessment:
Access to Information, Decision-Making Participation, and Feedback Preferences Among Returnees and IDP Communities in Mocimboa da Praia
INTRODUCTION
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), in collaboration with the IOM Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), conducted a survey among returnees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the district headquarters of Mocimboa da Praia from the 13th May to the 16th May 2024. The objective was to understand the community's access to information, their preferences for communicating complaints and feedback, and their participation in decision-making processes. The following results presented in this report reveal the needs for Accountability to Affected People (AAP) activities in Mocimboa da Praia.
METHODOLOGY
A total of 405 individuals were surveyed with an individual-level survey conducted in person at the Mocimboa da Praia district headquarters. Among the surveyed population, 48% were female and 52% were male. The survey encompassed a diverse demographics, with 78% of the respondents identified as returnees, reflecting individuals who have returned to Mocimboa da Praia, and 22% identified as IDPs.
