Context
Local authorities and the humanitarian community identified the site in August 2021.IOM planned the site for IDPs from Montepuez's transit site. In 2021, the government relocated IDP families from Massasse to Chimoio. CRS gave these families shelter kits and NFI. WaSH partners improved water access and MSF and JAM provided communal emergency latrines. In February 2022, attacks in Meluco district caused a new influx of IDPs. A transit site is currently active for IDP households still waiting to have their plots allocated.
