Cylone Eline and subsequent floods have had devastating repercussions in Mozambique. For weeks people have been clinging for their lives on roofs and treetops. People of the provinces of southern Gaza, central Inhambane and Maputo have been most affected.
GOAL emergency relief workers are currently
working in the Maputo area. GOAL staff members have been going out in boats
trying to help people that are stranded.
GOAL has commissioned 40 tonnes of emergency non-food supplies - which are currently en route from Nairobi. Included in the aid cargo is plastic sheeting, blankets, collapsible jerry cans, mosquito netting and various other items.
GOAL needs your help - URGENTLY.

Large tracts of these provinces remain totally submerged by the floods and only accessible by air. Crops have been completely destroyed and the most fertile lands are covered by mud and flooding. GOAL will be involved in rehabilitation work which will include the rebuilding of the country's infrastructure.
