CONTEXT
Tropical Cyclone Dikeledi made landfall in northern Mozambique on 13 January 2025, significantly affecting Nampula Province. According to the National Institute for Disaster Management (INGD), approximately 249,787 individuals (49,407 households) have been impacted by the cyclone.
This report provides an update on the response to families affected by the Tropical Cyclone Dikeledi in the province. The cyclone passed through the districts of Mossuril, Ilha de Moçambique, Monapo, Mogincual, Liupo, Angoche, and Larde before moving back over the coastline.
Mossuril has been the hardest-hit district, reporting near-total destruction. Significant damage has also been recorded in Ilha de Moçambique, Monapo, Mogincual, Liupo, Angoche, and Larde, further exacerbating the challenges faced by the affected communities.
