Heavy rainfall since the beginning of January has caused significant flooding in northern and central parts of Mozambique, particularly in Zambezia, Niassa, Nampula, and Cabo Delgado provinces.

As of 16 January, 20,000 people have been displaced and 100,000 people are estimated to be affected.
