A team from the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation left here today for Morocco and Mali to inaugurate.
The delegation will be led during the week-long humanitarian mission by the Foundation's Director Salim Al Dhahiri.
Al Dhahiri said they would participate in the celebrations of the 50th edition of the 'Arab History' magazine published by the Morocco's Historians Association. The Foundation provides US$ 100,000 a year to the publication.
An elite of 280 Arab and foreign thinkers, philosophers, intellectuals, scientists authors and researchers from 155 universities in the Arab and Islamic countries contribute articles to the magazine which won 11 medals from Arab leaders.
During the Morocco's trip, the delegation will also attend the inauguration of the Tata mosque, whose construction's expense of US$ 3.5 million was financed by the Foundation. The Foundation also offered US$1.5 million for support of projects of the national human development initiative, which was launched by King Mohammed V1 of Morocco for fighting poverty, illiteracy and disease.
A number of educational projects worth US$2 million will be opened at the quake-hit Hasema in the far north of the country.
In Mali, the Sheikh Zayed College, which was financed by the Foundation, will be opened at Mali's financial capital Bamako, to welcome sons of Malian low-earners. " Emirates News Agency, WAM
