Rabat (dpa) - A 6.5-magnitude earthquake
shook northern Morocco on Tuesday, with officials reporting casualties
and heavy damage, news reports said Tuesday.
The quake occurred at 2:27 GMT and was
centered on Morocco's northern coast in the Strait of Gibraltar, according
to the U.S. Geological Survey in Denver, Colorado.
The CNN news network said the earthquake killed at least nine people in a heavily-damaged village about 250 kilometres north-east of Rabat.
