The humanitarian impact of the flooding that hit central-western Morocco in the last days is increasing.
According to media, as of 17 December, at least 41 people died, including 37 in the Safi province, Marrakesh-Safi region, and four in the province of Tinghir in the Drâa-Tafilalet region. In the Safi province, 14 people have been injured as well, while a total of 70 buildings have been affected and schools have been closed for three days.
Over the next 48 hours, more rainfall is forecast over northern Morocco.
