Background & Methodology

  • The national authorities established a total of 136 Refugee Accommodation Centres (RACs) across the country, of which 53 remained active by 17 July 2023.

  • Key informant interviews were conducted with purposefully selected RAC focal points who reported on the situation in the Centres.

  • This factsheet presents the results of the data collection rounds that took place on 3 and 17 July 2023 through phone interviews. Both rounds covered 48 out of 53 active Centres.

Round-specific findings

  • Since 19 June 2023, 53 RACs continue to be active.

  • The top three most requested categories of items include cleaning products (requested by 33% of Centres), personal hygiene items (27% of RACs), and kitchen utensils (6%).

  • The number of current occupants who moved into the Centres from the host community is still low, standing at 1% of all occupants.
