INTERSOS Moldova Overview
INTERSOS began operations in Moldova on March 3rd, 2022, focusing on supporting the transit population. A mobile clinic has been quickly established at the Palanca border point to provide primary healthcare to refugees in coordination with UNHCR. Additionally, INTERSOS conducted protection activities such as identifying vulnerable individuals, offering referrals, providing psychosocial support, and sharing information on available services at the Palanca and Tudora border points.
During the second half of 2022 and throughout 2023, INTERSOS significantly expanded its operations in both northern and southern Moldova to provide support to the extensive network of individuals affected by the conflict.
INTERSOS extended its primary healthcare services and included health promotion in its programme. Additionally, the protection projects were expanded to assist the affected population in enhancing their quality of life.
Furthermore, the psychosocial support (PSS) activities were expanded to include recreational initiatives for refugees, such as specialized events and English classes.
Key updates
• The MEAL Department conducted a training session for 65 field staff on the Complaints, Feedback, and Response Mechanism. The training covered CFRM principles, confidentiality, complaint and feedback processing, and effective communication of information about the CFRM.
The session was highly productive and well-received by the staff, improving their understanding and readiness to engage with the CFRM.
• The official launch of the updated ECHO-funded project Information Management System has been completed.
