Distribution of the humanitarian aid in Moldova (2008)

In March 2008, PIPA in cooperation with local partner The Saint George Peasants Cartel distributed humanitarian aid to 970 peasants in 15 regions of Moldova, those most affected by draught in summer 2007. Material aid consisted from corn seeds, fertilizers and petrol for the agricultural machinery.

After consulting the local authorities and branches, our partner in Moldova designated several peasants in each region, who were most heavily affected by the natural disaster last year. The number of recipients in each of the regions depends on the size of the area end the scale of damage.

Each of the peasants received 12,5 Kg of corn seeds, 35 Kg of fertilizers and a 30l of petrol for the agricultural machinery.

In March 2008, PIPA realized a monitoring visit of the project. During several days we were monitoring distribution of the material aid in two affected Moldova regions - Straseni and Anenii Noi.
