Typhoon Maysak Situation Report No. 2

I. Highlights

• Typhoon Maysak made landfall on the Chuuk and Yap states causing extensive damages.

• President Manny Mori declared a state of emergency for Chuuk and Yap states

• FSM Emergency Task Force led by Director OEEM is coordinating the response efforts and had met with US Embassy officials to access the DAEF

• Patrol boats FSM03 and FSM02 departed for the Chuuk and Yap islands respectively to assess damages and team comprises of OEEM, Resource & Development, TC&I and Health

• Chuuk and Yap States are conducting assessment with support from the locally based IOM teams
