This is a report for situational awareness and impacts from Hurricane Willa and includes useful social media official links and information. The report is based on reports from social media and public domain sources. Humanity Road activated its Digital Disaster Response Team on October 24, 2018 to monitor as Hurricane Willa made landfall as a Category 3 storm near Isla del Bosque, Sinaloa state, in Mexico. According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) winds speeds were recorded at 120 mph with a wind gust of 95 mph reported. The storm had prompted more than 4,000 evacuations in coastal towns. The winds damaged a hospital, knocked out power, toppled wood-shack homes and ripped metal roofing off other houses in the Sinaloa state municipality of Escuinapa. Source
