Approximately 8 000 Central American migrants (mostly Hondurans) from the caravan that has been travelling north, have reached the Mexican city of Huixtla, State of Chiapas. More people are crossing the Mexico/Guatemala Border and it is estimated that the total number of individuals who are moving towards Mexico may have reached 15 000. The caravan is expected to continue growing in numbers.

The number of people on the move in other countries is unconfirmed, but it is estimated that between 5 000 and 8 000 people are in transit in Guatemala. 8 000 more are expected to enter Guatemala from Honduras in the coming days.

Some relief assistance is being provided along the route (in borders or main strategic points), mostly in terms of WASH, shelter, non-food items and protection, but many basic needs remain unaddressed.
