Highlights

  • Refugees continue to arrive, with a drop in the influx in the last 2 weeks of May 2024. On April 30th, there were 82,262 new refugees outside the camp and 12,000 in Mberra camp.
  • An increase in measles cases in Bassiknou district - 586 new cases reported. The health actors are mobilized to vaccinate all children aged 0 to 15 years.
  • 10 drinking water networks have been rehabilitated, supplying water to over 13,000 people and 55 latrines and shower blocks out of 142 have been built. The construction work is ongoing in the 7 other localities hosting the new refugees.
  • 2,478 new pupils, including 1,283 girls, were enrolled in existing schools, and received school kits.
  • 1,045 children in need of protection were identified, including 606 girls, for appropriate assistance.
