Message from the President
The Marshall Islands Red Cross Society’s (MIRCS) journey towards becoming a fully-fledged National Society is challenging, but has likewise manifested the strong resolve of its volunteers and leaders to create a National Society that is relevant, sustainable, and strong.
Our island nation has its own share of disasters and emergencies, further complicated by climate change. Noncommunicable diseases are also on the rise. Through this plan, MIRCS will be guided in its own development, further enhancing its capacities to effectively engage with communities, and mobilize volunteers and youth to address vulnerabilities and risks in this island nation.
This Strategic Plan is the MIRCS contribution to national, regional and global commitments such as the Republic of the Marshall Islands Strategic Plan, the Pacific Resilience Development Framework, the 1 Billion Coalition for Resilience, the Sustainable Development Goals and our own Strategy 2020.
