MAIN ACTIVITIES

Protection Cluster

  • In April 2021, 635 protection incidents were recorded by the protection monitoring system, 223 more incidents than in March. The region of Mopti remains the most affected by these incidents (58%) followed by Timbuktu (18%), and Gao (11%).

  • On 26 April, the Protection Cluster shared the infographic on the protection situation for the period January - March 2021. It highlights key data for analysing the protection environment.

  • From 18 March to 14 April, the Protection Cluster Coordinatio and NGOs AMSODE and AVS, with the support of UNHCR, conducted sensitization sessions on the Kampala Convention, in relation to the protection and assistance to internally displaced persons in Bamako sites (Nimana, Senou, Faladiè, Mabilé center). The objective of the session was to exchange with the IDPs on the content of the Kampala Convention and the drafting of the draft law in Mali. 16 sessions were held and 240 IDPs were reached by these sessions and radio spots were broadcast on these sessions.
