Mali: Rapid Needs Assessment – Food security & Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights

Methodology

This needs assessment was carried out in June 2023 in the Segou, Mopti, Timbuktu, and Gao regions. It involved children, adolescents and youth, adults, humanitarian actors and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) service providers through 240 focus group discussions (FGDs) (144 groups of children, adolescents and youth aged 10 to 24 and 96 groups of adults, parents and service providers aged 25 to 45) and key informant interviews (KIIs) with teachers, heads of household and women aged 56 to 60. In total, 2,800 people took part in the FGDs and KIIs. This assessment was intended to assess sexual and reproductive health and rights’ needs in relation to food security but also and child protection in emergency settings, including sexual and gender-based violence.
