Mali – Conflict (ECHO, IOM, NGOs) (ECHO Daily Flash of 26 February 2016)

  • On 22 February, in North Mali, gunmen from Doussahak community attacked the West Inekar community in a locality situated 45 km on the Ansongo-Menaka axis, Menaka region. At least ten people were killed during these clashes and several others injured.
  • The insecurity created by this attack has caused displacement. Almost the entire population of Inékar village - some 2 280 people - has moved to the towns of Menaka and Intissekite. The displaced population is in need of safe drinking water, temporary shelter and food assistance.
