On 22 February, in North Mali, gunmen from Doussahak community attacked the West Inekar community in a locality situated 45 km on the Ansongo-Menaka axis, Menaka region. At least ten people were killed during these clashes and several others injured.
The insecurity created by this attack has caused displacement. Almost the entire population of Inékar village - some 2 280 people - has moved to the towns of Menaka and Intissekite. The displaced population is in need of safe drinking water, temporary shelter and food assistance.
