A Chinese company on Thurday has donated 100 Air-Water machines to the Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC) to assist in its response to the ongoing water crisis in Male’. The Air-Water machines which use humidity in the air to produce clean drinking water were donated by the F N D Company based in the Shenzhen City of China.

The machines which generate up to 4600 liters of pure drinking water daily can deliver hot and cold water and mineralized water. Quality and safety of water produced by these machines are currently being tested by the EPA.

MRC will consider the possibility of bringing additional Air-Water machines, depending on its ability to provide emergency water solutions, especially for use in healthcare facilities and work places as a preparedness measure for emergencies.

MRC takes this opportunity to thank the CEO of FND Company Mr Mark Xin and team for their generous contribution to the people of Maldives.

Maldivian Red Crescent is a voluntary humanitarian organization established by the MRC Act (7/2009) and is the 187th National Society of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Maldivian Red Crescent’s current strategic areas are Disaster Management, Health and Social Care and Youth Development.
