Highlights

• According to the draft assessment report, 2.3 million people have been affected by Tropical Cyclone Freddy in Malawi, with 1.6 million severely food insecure, over 650,000 people displaced and over 600 deaths.

• Over 800 mt of food and relief items have been transported by WFP on behalf of the humanitarian community to flood-affected populations over land, water, and air transport.

• WFP’s helicopter began operating on Saturday 25 March and has so far delivered 24 mt of food in hard-to-reach areas in Chikwawa, Mulanje, Nsanje and Phalombe districts.
