  • Key findings from a survey has been conducted through real time monitoring (RTM) (covering 64% of 176 volunteer teachers in over 150 schools in 8 districts ) indicate that there has been a drop in enrolment ranging from 1-32% due to the effects of floods in schools, The most significant drop (32%) is that of boys in Nsanje district. Further analysis of data is ongoing and this information will guide the Education Cluster to re-plan the next phase of response.

  • UNICEF in partnership with Catholic Relief Services, Concern Universal and Goal Malawi, has so far reached a cumulative population of 123,549 people with sanitation services through the construction of 649 latrines. During the reporting period, 128,124 people of which 22,814 are learners have been reached through construction of 285 washrooms in camps.

  • Total value of supplies delivered to date is at US$ 2,568,131

  • UNICEF has a funding gap of US$ 2,594,067, against the overall appeal for US$ 9,291,292
