The UAE relief team continued its operations to help Libyan refugees who had fled the war in Libya. The relief activities in cooperation with the Youth Association of Tunisia included distribution of food supplies and medicines as per directives from UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Many Libyan families are living as refugees in homes of Tunisians, who in a show of faith and solidarity offered help to the displaced women and children. Other refugees are living in camps set up in Tataouine in Southern Tunisia bordering Libya, and are protected by volunteers. The Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works and the UAE Red Crescent participate in the relief operations.
Abdul Rahman Ibrahim bin Abdul Aziz, Commander of the UAE relief team said that the team will continue to give all the necessary help and support to the refugees until they are able to return to their homeland. He added that the relief activities are implemented as per directives from Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and are followed up by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Western Region and Chairman of the Red Crescent. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
