KEY MESSAGES
1.The UN and humanitarian partners are closely following up on corroborated reports of approximately 12 people who report- edly sustained injuries on 23 April as a result of violence in the Qasr Ben Ghashir Detention Center, where some 890 refugees and migrants are located. As of this report, all injured have been transferred to hospital and efforts are underway for the urgent relocation of all individuals to safer areas.
2. As the conflict continues, vulnerable persons – including displaced women, children, refugees, migrants, and persons with specific needs – are at higher risk due to their exposure to violence, increased lawlessness, shortages in basic goods such as food and water, and limited access to basic services such as healthcare.
3. 500,000 children have been affected by the present conflict, with increased levels of psychosocial stress reported by child protection partners working in collective shelters. Humanitarian actors have provided 1,400 IDP children with psychosocial care since the start of the conflict.
