Overview

It is estimated that over 102,189 Sudanese refugees have arrived in Libya since April 2023. This includes 31,417 individuals who were registered post-conflict, bringing the total number of Sudanese registered by UNHCR in the country to 50,800. Authorities estimate that around 65,000 Sudanese have arrived through Alkufra alone, with 300-400 new arrivals per day. Due to the irregular nature of entry, the absence of data shared by authorities, and the vast remote land border with Chad, Egypt, and Sudan, combined with movements towards cities along the coast, it remains challenging to provide an accurate number of Sudanese refugees.
