WAM Salloum, Apr 15th, 2011 (WAM) -- In line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a new convoy carrying humanitarian supplies was flagged off to help the Libyan people affected by the warfare.
This included over 735 tons of food, medicines and medical equipments in addition to six ambulance cars.
As he supervised the passage of the convoy across Salloum crossing, Chairman of the UAE Relief team Abdul Rahman Abdul Aziz, told WAM that humanitarian efforts are a usual practice of UAE.
He recalled the continuous help extended by the late Sheikh Zayed to brotherly people in times of hardships, and said that the President follows the same footprints .
