US $165.6 million HUMANITARIAN FUNDING REQUIREMENTS

The ongoing conflict and political instability in Libya has affected the lives of 2.4 million Libyans, migrants and refugees. The humanitarian community faces significant challenges to deliver humanitarian assistance to 1.3 million people targeted by the Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) 2016. The HRP was launched in December 2015 requesting US $165.6 million, of which US $30 million or 18.2 per cent has so far been funded. This includes US $12 million from CERF underfunded window that has been allocated to ensure some critical needs will be met for a short period of only a few months. The support to provide humanitarian assistance is urgently needed. Unless new funds for the response are received, essential stocks such as food and essential medicines, which are supporting the most vulnerable affected people, will begin to dry up in June 2016.
