Five trucks braved the roads into Zwedru bringing different gifts for the holiday season. These gifts included lifesaving items like 456 cartons of soap, water quality assessment kits, water tanks, pumps, water kits for 2,000 families, 6,671 bucket sets and 3,268 water purification kits that are being prepositioned in preparation of any kind of emergency.

In Monrovia, thousands of students employed under the winter vacation jobs scheme of the government staged a violent demonstration on 22 and 23 December, protesting against late payment of salaries. The security situation has been brought under control with the help of the government’s security forces and UNMIL.
