The International Committee of the Red Cross has given the agriculture ministry three metric tons of Nerica upland seed rice.
The seed rice from farmers in Kolahun and Voinjama districts in Lofa County is to be used for continuous multiplication.
The seed rice brought in from Guinea in 2009 was earlier distributed to farmers in the two districts for cultivation.
Presenting the seed rice to the Ministry, ICRC head of delegation Karin Hoffman said the donation was the farmers' contribution to Liberia's food security drive.
The ICRC assured of its continuous support disclosing, it will distribute seed rice and farming tools to fifty other communities.
The communities are in Lofa, Grand Gedeh, Gbarpolu, Sinoe and Rivergee Counties.
