1. Key Points

• UNRWA activated its Emergency Response in Lebanon on 24 September. The Agency is currently operating 11 emergency shelters across the country.

• As of 27 November, a total of 3,316 Internally Displaced People (IDPs) are registered in UNRWA shelters.

• On 26 November, a ceasefire agreement was announced to be effective as of 27 November at 4:00 am. As of 27 November at 1:00 pm, the ceasefire agreement was holding.

• On 22 November, the Israeli military issued displacement orders affecting Burj Chemali Camp and Maashouk Palestinian gathering in Tyre Area.

• On 26 November in the lead up to the announcement of the ceasefire agreement Rashidieh Camp was hit by Israeli airstrikes.

• No incidents affecting UNRWA facilities, and no casualties among UNRRWA staff, were reported between 20 November and 27 November.

2. Overall Situation

• The International Organization for Migration (IOM) reports a total of 899,725 IDPs (51 per cent female and 49 per cent male) as of 25 November. The implications of the ceasefire will be reflected in the next situation report.

• As of 27 November, 990 households, representing 3,316 people, were registered in UNRWA emergency shelters across the country, indicating a minor increase for the first time in several weeks. This is likely due to the intensity of airstrikes over the reporting period.

• UNRWA is working with a range of partner organisations (community based, local NGOs and international NGOs) in all its emergency shelters to provide a full range of services, including hot meals and psychosocial support activities. In its emergency response, UNRWA has relied on the dedication and commitment of partners on the ground.
