Highlights of the week
- The number of Syrians receiving protection and assistance in Lebanon has reached 100,000;
- 1,700 refugees arrived in Aarsal from Homs while few hundreds entered Masharie el Qaa due to increased tensions in the Homs governorate;
- 16,000 refugees received food kits, food vouchers, blankets, mattresses, hygiene kits and baby kits through the efforts of UNHCR, DRC, WFP, World Vision, UNFPA, UNICEF, and Caritas Migrante Center;
- The Lebanese government agreed to waive the fee for Syrians wishing to renew their residency coupons;
- UNHCR developed an enhanced tool to map needs, gaps and track implementation of shelter interventions by area and partner in Lebanon.
