RCS to send 2500 ton of humanitarian relief aid to Lebanon

The UAE's Red Crescent Society (RCS) has started loading a ship of immediate humanitarian relief aid for war-ravaged Lebanon. The new consignment is instructed by General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and is being followed up by Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of RCS.

Loading operations are underway at Abu Dhabi Port and in RCS's warehouses and RCS is racing against time to finish as soon as possible, said Dr. Saleh Al Tae'i, acting secretary general of RCS. The 2500-ton humanitarian ship which will carry food, medical and other relief materials is expected to leave for Lebanon within two days. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
