BEIRUT,

As armed conflict affecting Lebanon intensifies, UNRWA continues implementing its emergency response plan, activated on 24 September.

As of 27 September 2024, the seven operating shelters accommodate 1,424 displaced individuals, including Palestinians, Lebanese, and Syrians. The Agency is providing food, mattresses, blankets, and other essentials in these DESs.

UNRWA provides in these shelters aid based on impartiality and non-discrimination, hosting Palestine Refugees, Lebanese and Syrian refugees, supporting all in need. This reflects UNRWA's commitment to upholding humanitarian principles, delivering aid based on humanitarian need.

Despite all challenges, our operations continue across Lebanon, primarily providing health services and garbage collection and relief.

“We are passing through a difficult time, and I express my deep gratitude to our dedicated staff who continue supporting our operations and in particular the ongoing emergency response.” the Director of UNRWA Affairs in Lebanon said.
