Situation Update

In the aftermath of the recent ceasefire in Lebanon, there is an urgent need for targeted mental health and psychosocial support for vulnerable populations, particularly children, the elderly group, and individuals who have experienced the loss of family members and their homes.

These groups are at heightened risk of psychological distress, with children showing signs of trauma due to exposure to violence and displacement, while the elderly often face exacerbated feelings of isolation and grief. Psychosocial interventions, including psychological first aid, trauma-informed counseling, and family-based support services, are being prioritized to mitigate the immediate mental health impact. However, access to these services remains constrained, particu-larly for those residing in remote or informal settlements. Strengthening coordination among health authorities, humanitarian organizations, and local community networks is essential to ensure comprehensive and equitable mental health support for these vulnerable populations.
