Demographic Distribution & Vulnerability

Since 24 September, IRC has been actively conducting Rapid Needs Assessments (RNA) and Key Informative Interviews to identify and address the evolving needs of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

As of 11 October, the RNA involved 1430 internally displaced families (1137 Lebanese, 274 Syrians, 11 Palestinian Refugees in Lebanon, 2 Palestinian Refugees from Syria, and 6 from other nationalities). Totaling 6,736 individuals, of which 33% are children under 15, 7% elderly and 4% People with Disabilities.

A concerning 3% of the households (43 out of 1430) reported that their children have been separated from their families due to displacement and airstrikes. These children are currently living with relatives or neighbors. Cases have been referred to the respective organizations based on geographic distribution. However, based on experience from other active conflict contexts, the actual number of unaccompanied and separated children (UASC) is likely to be higher. Necessitating urgent intervention to identify them and facilitate family reunification.
