Lebanon: Commitments made by France at the Stockholm Conference

Humanitarian relief, 4 million euros:
- assistance to civilian victims of the conflict,
- food aid,
- purchase and shipping of drugs and hygiene kits,
- support for Lebanese and international NGOs,
- emergency aid to boost the local economic fabric.
Contribution to funding international organisations' actions, 4 million euros, divided equally among Unicef, WFP, ICRC and UNHCR.
Logistics, 7 million euros:
- Operation Baliste,
- delivery and assembly of Bailey bridges.
Additional food aid: 1 million euros.
Support for civil security actions implemented via UNDP:
2 million euros.
Local action for civilian victims of the conflict: 500,000 euros.
Humanitarian mine clearance, 700,000 euros:
aid with equipment, protective clothing and training.
Action for the environment, 750,000 euros:
Clean-up of coast, purchase of equipment, training of Lebanese personnel.
rehabilitation of infrastructure (water and sanitation), technical assistance, expertise.
Continuation of action begun in 2006 in particular:
Support for decentralised cooperation between French and Lebanese local authorities:
500,000 euros.
Support for NGOs: 1 million euros.
Institutional support:
1.5 million euros in the field of governance.
Social development fund:
500,000 euros for communities made vulnerable by the conflict.
Humanitarian mine clearance:
1.1 million euros
