Kuwaiti plane in Beirut loaded with 33 tons of relief aid for Syrian refugees

BEIRUT, April 28 (KUNA) ­­ A Kuwaiti airplane arrived in Beirut Tuesday loaded with 33 tons of humanitarian aid sent by Kuwait Higher Relief Committee for the Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

Bader Al­Shamrouk, head of the committee's delegation, said the aid supplies included food, wheelchairs, blankets, clothes and other basic relief aid.

Speaking to KUNA, Al­Shamrouk said Kuwait charitable societies rushed to help the Syrian refugees in Lebanon and other neighboring countries since the broke out of the Syrian crisis in March 2011.
He hoped the humanitarian aid would alleviate suffering of the Syrian refugees who were forced to abondon their homes and were living in difficult conditions. More than a million Syrian refugees live in different parts of Lebanon.

Kuwait hosted three donor conferences for the Syrian refugees in 2013, 2014 and last month. (end) mah.bs
