UNHCR Multipurpose Cash Assistance Programme (MCAP) aims at assisting and addressing the protection and other basic needs of refugees, in a safe a dignified way, through the provision of monthly unconditional cash transfers. In December 2024, 872 refugee of other nationalities (RON) households were receiving UNHCR multipurpose cash assistance through the regular MCAP programme annual cycle started in December 2023, assisted by UNHCR or by UNHCR and WFP jointly. During the assistance cycle, multipurpose cash assistance monthly transfers consisted of USD 40 per household and USD 15 per individual, capped at 3, increased in November 2024 to USD 45 per household and USD 20 per individual, to reflect the evolution of the cost of the Minimum Expenditure Basket to cover basic needs. In December 2024, the assistance covered 20% of the MEB compared to 18% in May 2024, for a family of 3 individuals.
