Briefing about NPA activities to the displaced Palestinians form Nahr al-Bared Camp

As of the second day of the clashes that erupted in the Nahr al-Bared Refugee Camp between the Lebanese Army and the extreme Islamist group Fatah al-Islam, on May 20, 2007, NPA started giving relief services to the Palestinians displaced from Nahr al-Bared Camp to the neighborid areas such as al-Beddawi Camp and other areas in Tripoli, Beirut and the South.

With the support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NPA - Lebanon launched an emergency program to reduce the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinians.

Up until June 14, 2007, the total number of beneficiaries reached 1355 families, 325 disabled, 13 injured persons and 205 students (a total of 7922 persons) benefiting from the following services:

- 781 gallons of Shampoo

- 521 gallons of Detol

- 266 Hygiene Kits

- 955 Kitchen Kits including 100 Tea Pots

- 261 Portable Cooking Gas

- 1637 Kits of Clothing

- 4654 Sanitary Pads

- 1161 Diapers

- 3 Baby Seats

- 193 Laundry Hanger and 193 Clipper Sets

- 10,250 Emergency Cash Assistance for Students

- 54 Wheel Chairs

- 41 Water Mattresses

- 18 Tripods

- 20 Sticks

- 20 Auxiliary Crutches

- 10 Elbow Crutches

- 38 Walkers

- 500 Tips

- 13 Push Chair

- 1000 Urine Bags

- 1000 Condoms

- 10 Urinators

- 24 Plastic Boxes

- 3 Urostomy Boxes

- 3 Stomahesive Boxes
