The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic will continue to strengthen collaboration under the WFP Country Strategic Plan for 2023 – 2027 (CSP) to improve food security, social protection, emergency response, climate change adaption, and disaster risk management as well as to promote healthy and nutritious diet in schools in the country. The implementation of CSP activities is critical to the CSP activities the Government's efforts as the country is facing multiple challenges, including increasing poverty, high food prices and frequent natural disasters that negatively affect country’s economic growth and nutrition of the most vulnerable population.
The CSP activities are aligned with the country’s priorities described in the National Development Strategy for 2018–2040 and the National Development Programme for 2022–2026.
