OSH [ACTED News] – On 28 December 2011, ACTED handed over medical equipment and furniture to the Medical Center in Moynok village, just outside Osh city in southern Kyrgyzstan, improving health and sanitation services for the village’s population of 4,000 people. This activity was part of UNHCR-funded four quick impact projects aimed at reducing tensions and mitigating potential conflicts by improving infrastructure and peaceful cooperation among vulnerable communities indirectly affected by the June events in southern Kyrgyzstan. The other three quick impact projects include construction and rehabilitation of drinking and irrigation water systems in Ak Tash, Uchar and Kurshab villages, bringing the total number of direct beneficiaries to nearly 30,000.
