General Situation:
1. Kyrgyz rescue teams recovered the bodies of 42 Uzbek and 1 Kyrgyz citizen. The operative group of the Osh Civil Defense Staff is working now in cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency of Kyrgyzstan.
2. The Kyrgyz Emergency Response Commission has evaluated preliminary damages as follows:
- 2 families evacuated from the risky zone in Kyzyl Bulak,
- 10 families evacuated from Ak Kia,
- 3 road bridges crushed,
- communications: 12 km of lines, 4 km of cable, 32 pillars,
- power lines: 31 pillars (10 kw and 0.4 kw) and 2 transformer substations
- natural gas equipment: 250 m of a medium pressure pipeline, 250 m of a low pressure pipeline, 1 converting station,
- irrigation systems: the main water accumulation facility and the canal,
- the main water accumulation facility and the canal at the power station of the Kadamjay antimony factory,
- 220 m of drinking water main pipeline,
- in Kadamjay, canals and sewage systems, a flour mill with facilities
- extensive damage to road facilities and agricultural land.
3. Preliminary reports from Uzbekistan indicate that in total 92 people have perished due to these floods in the Fergana Valley. About 14,000 people had to be evacuated and some 53 families are reported to have lost all personal belongings.
4. OCHA-Geneva is monitoring the situation in cooperation with the Permanent Mission of Kyrgyzstan in Geneva, the Permanent Mission of Uzbekistan in New York and the Offices of the UNDP/OCHA Resident Coordinators in Bishkek and Tashkent.
5. For coordination purposes, donors are requested to inform OCHA-Geneva, as indicated below, of relief missions, pledges or contribution and their corresponding values by item. This is OCHA's last situation report on this emergency.
