Biophysical Indicators

  • Poor rains was received for all livelihood zones in the county during the third week of the month. It was a poor start of the season and below normal.

  • Pasture and browse condition is moderate in a few areas the county but poor in most areas. The condition is below normal.

  • The County State of Water is declining in main water sources in most areas. This is below normal.

Socio Economic Indicators (Impact Indicators)

  • Livestock migration pattern was above normal grazing routes to dry grazing areas.

  • The livestock body condition was good/fair and within normal range across livelihood zones.

  • Distances to grazing-water and household water increased.

  • The Terms of Trade recorded are fair for agropastoral livelihood zone. This was above normal.

  • Percentage of children at risk remained high although below normal.
