Biophysical Indicators

  • The percentage of average rainfall is 19.8% below normal range of 80 – 120% an indication of a dry month.

  • The VCI is 24.01 which indicate vegetation is far below the normal range of 35 - 50.

  • The current water situation is within the normal range however the situation is improving with some of the water sources recharging.

Socio Economic Indicators (Impact Indicators)

  • The condition of Pasture and browse is fair but improving and available at 1.96km.

  • Current livestock body condition is fair but improving with decrease in distances to pasture, browse and water sources.

  • No major livestock diseases were reported in the month under review

  • Milk production is 14.71 within the normal range of 13.33 – 36.01.The milk production is expected to increase with the current conditions.

  • The utilization indicators are within normal range.
