Minimal parts of the county received showers on various days totalling 16.5 mm with poor temporal distribution and uneven space coverage.

Further deterioration was noticed in rangeland cover across the county with both livelihood zones remaining in severe vegetation deficit band.
The overall vegetation cover decreased to 11.5 from 15.44 recorded last month. -
Surface water sources have dried up and underground sources yields declining across the livelihood zones leading to increase in trekking distance for both household and livestock.

Cattle are still in dry season grazing areas of Koom and Ngorishe and others are in Laikipia, Mt. Kenya and Nyandarua.

Production and consumption of milk slightly improved due to kidding and calving from goats and camels.

Livestock deaths particularly cattle and sheep due to starvation have been reported.

Further deterioration in body condition observed for both browsers and grazers ranging between fair to poor which contributed to decreased livestock prices for all species.

Prices of cereals (Posho) increased to Ksh 55 from Ksh 54.

Term of trades decreased. A pastoralist fetched 38 kg of cereals from the sale of a goat.

The proportion of sampled children under-five years at risk of malnutrition slightly improved compared to last month but remained high at 24.24 per cent.
