Biophysical Indicators

Rainfall report: No rain received in the County for the month of February.

  • Vegetation condition: The vegetation condition Index (VCI-1Month) was 56.8 in February, indicating normal vegetation condition for the Entire County but slight decrease from the previous month.

Socio Economic Indicators Production indicators

  • The body condition for both cattle and goats were normal but the condition deteriorated slightly.

  • Milk production increased in February. This was higher than the long-term average.

  • Livestock immigration and no death reported.

Access indicators

  • The average Term of Trade for the month of February was 0.31 from 0.29 in January.

  • Household watering distances increased from 1.97Km in January to 2.17Km in February.

  • Milk consumption increased from 0.56litres to 0.6litres per household in the month of February.

Utilization indicators

  • The proportion of children at risk of malnutrition increased in the month under review but remained lower than the long-term mean.

  • The average coping strategy Index for the month of February decrease from the previous month. This was lower than long-term average
