Attachments

Many parts of the country recorded minimal rains this week. However, the impact of heavy rains and floods experienced from December 2009, has been severely in North Rift, South Rift, Nyanza, parts of Nairobi and Lower Eastern regions.

The Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) continues to provide relief aid to flood affected people across the country. KRCS has received relief support from the Government, donors and various stakeholders to assist the floods affected populations countrywide.

The International Federation of Red Cross/Red Crescent has donated to KRCS Ksh28 million under the floods appeal. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded KRCS a grant of US$200,000 to purchase 3,000 family kits and related costs for distribution of relief aid to 3,000 households, among them those affected by floods.
