The rains have come early to the drought-stricken northern areas. They have caused outbreaks of cholera and diarrhoea in the region of Garissa Town.

Oxfam had been working on emergency food distributions and is now looking at the possibility of sending a sanitation Engineer to assist with the health problems caused by the early rains. Oxfam is also currently researching the possibility of using camels' milk for therapeutic feeding purposes.
