Production Indicators
General condition of the season’s crop is good, cereals {millets sorghums, maize} at vegetative stage while legumes {beans, cowpea, green gram} near flowering stage.
Notable improvement in livestock body condition- cattle body condition ranging between fair and good, and body condition for shoats was good across the county.
Access Indicators
Food prices in all markets remained high, but readily available.
An increase in livestock prices was observed across all the markets occasioned by the improved body condition and low sales.
Milk production and consumption was relatively low, but within seasonal range.
There was an improvement in the terms of trade occasioned by favourable goat price.
Notable improvement in water situation, attributed to the rains received in the month. Recharge of surface water sources improved water condition in the hot spots previously hit by water scarcity in the previous month.
Utilization Indicators
The proportion of households that recorded borderline food consumption increased from 38 percent to 48 percent with marginal zones recording higher portions at 15%.
Coping strategy index increased further to 20.01 occasioned by households food deficits.
